Blooming Ridge Strategy Part 2:
Gathering Clues

Unlocking Secrets in Blooming Ridge

Even though Blooming Ridge presents itself as a quiet vacation spot for a new visitor, your real purpose here is to solve the case of the stolen pie. When you think you've figured out who the culprit is, you can report him or her at the Tower of Law, which is Blooming Ridge's not-so-impressive police headquarters. However, the computer there is so slow in its functioning that you might not want to try using it until you're absolutely sure you know who ate that pie. To find out who that person is, you'll need to explore every nook and cranny of the town, including the areas that are only open during certain times of the day.

Bob's Luxury Apartments

As a new visitor to Blooming Ridge, you have your own little apartment here. This barren room is good for little other than sleeping, though. You won't get tired in this game (though I suppose you could get tired of it), so sleeping isn't exactly necessary. However, as Steve from the diner might have told you if you talked to him during the afternoon, the beds at Bob's Luxury Apartments can give you nightmares. If you click on your bed, you'll be subjected to one of five dreams. These dreams occur randomly, so to see them all you'll have to visit your apartment multiple times. Only two of these dreams are important, though. They are listed below.

Dream 1: The Pie

In this dream you'll encounter a walking and takling piece of cherry pie. He'll give you a series of cryptically-worded clues. For your reference, the clues are listed below:

1. Use rocks to put ROY in trees.
2. Going to church will help you learn a new language, or forget the one you already know.
3. The town's real protectors don't have guns, or thumbs to hold them with.
4. Yute is youth, fadda is father. Bad always means bad.
5. I'm not the only oddity floating around in your subconscious.

Dream 2: The Fat Man

The fat man is even more cryptic than the Pie in that he doesn't even speak modern English. Rather, he speaks in a dead dialect called Old English. By clicking the relief at the back of the Cathedral, you can read an essay that gives you some tips on understanding Old English. By using the words given in this essay, you can figure out some of the things the Fat Man says: you can copy and paste the text at the bottom of the screen, and that you can pause his speaking by clicking on the blinking star in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. In other words, he is clueing you in to how to translate his text: you can pause it with the star, and then copy and paste the text into an Old English translator website if you can manage to find one online.

If you don't feel like doing that, don't worry, because the two clues he gives you will be summarized here:

1.Remove the stars from the sky.
2.Visit Steve's at 7 P.M.
